- BAs & PMs - Better Together
The BA’s project role is to help set the scope for the project activity during the early stages of a project. The BA works with the PM, or acts as the PM in the early stages, to uncover the business need, develop requirements, validate requirements and work with subject matter experts to determine the changes to be made. Often, these changes are identified by a review of the as-is processes, creation of the to-be processes and highlighted gaps between the two. The gaps are used to determine what the project should provide. This is what can then be used by the PMs to create a work breakdown structure and a project plan. It can also be used in real-time for agile projects.
