Cannabis Science and Medicine Professional Certificate
UVM’s 7-week, fully online certificate program covers cannabis history, business, law and policy, plant biology, biological effects on humans, production and safety, pharmacology, and clinical research, providing professionals with the assurance they can accurately inform patients and customers, as well as gain a competitive advantage as a knowledgeable, trustworthy provider who can effectively minimize the risks and maximize the benefits of cannabis for therapeutic use. With compassion and empowerment at its center, UVM’s 8-week, fully online program helps you develop your innate capacity to care for others, release death anxieties, and support clients with individualized, compassionate care in a number of ways, including emotional, spiritual, informational, and physical support throughout the dying process. Starts May 20.
4 Week Companion Animal End of Life Doula Professional Certificate
UVM’s 4-week, fully online program seeks to help doulas, pet owners, veterinary technicians, spiritual care providers, or anyone involved in the care of animals develop a broad understanding of this difficult yet inevitable journey, with a focus on honoring and memorializing the enduring bonds between clients and their companions. Starts April 1.
2 Week Companion Animal End of Life Doula Professional Certificate
This 2-week alumni specialization course (for those who have completed UVM’s End-of-Life Doula Professional Certificate program) focuses on companion animal end-of-life care. If you are not an End-of-Life Doula Professional Certificate alumni, you must take the 4-week program to acquire skills related to doula essentials and compassionate care. Starts April 15.

Business Operations in Craft Beer
In the Business Operations Track, you’ll learn about how the many components of craft brewery operations and supply chain must fit together to build a profitable, efficient, and sustainable business. Students will address key topics such as sourcing and procurement, quality systems, new brewery start-up and capacity planning, forecasting, production planning, inventory, logistics, and environmental sustainability. Starts September 2.
Digital Marketing & Social Media in Craft Beer
Digital marketing has become a predominant component of many marketing mixes in recent years. UVM’s 8-week, fully online Business of Craft Beer Certificate program course focuses on introducing the craft beer professional to a breadth of core and emerging digital channels and disciplines. Students will learn a holistic value of creating a clear digital marketing strategy, the tools to support it, and the skills to evaluate and refine it. Starts June 3.
Managing Brewery Finances: Creating and Running an Accounting System
UVM’s 4-week, fully online Beer School course will teach you how to generate accurate, actionable data that will drive brewery decisions, including creating a customized Chart of Accounts (COA), reconciling bank statements and create journal entries for accruals and pre-pays and much more, in addition to learning how to translate that data into an understandable format for management and other key stakeholders. Starts October 17.
Marketing and Branding Your Brewery
In this 8-week, fully online UVM Business of Craft Beer Certificate program course, you’ll learn how to build your brand, establish a compelling “WHY,” and effectively market your brand and products. This course will address key industry trends, identify “best practices” in differentiating your brewery, reveal how to build a solid branding and marketing plan, and demonstrate how to measure success and plan for the future. Starts May 20.
Maximizing Taproom Revenue
In this 4-week, fully online UVM Beer School course, you will learn the strategies and tactics to increase brewery taproom sales and profitability. By creating financial scorecards, you be able to utilize key taproom metrics to benchmark and improve your bottom line. You will also learn best practices and how to utilize templates to help you project your taproom sales, margins, and operating costs. Starts June 17.
